Awarded Five stars for its accommodation from the AA and an ideal place to stay in the area, whether touring the Highlands, visiting Dornoch for a wedding or playing Championship golf on our World famous links course.

Owned and run by Michael & Kerensa Carr, this Victorian Town-House in the centre of the Royal Burgh of Dornoch was renovated in 1995 to high standards of comfort, whilst ensuring that the character of a family home was preserved.

Friendly & hospitable, your hosts, (who are also golf enthusiasts), give you personal service. 2 Quail is therefore very much a home from home. There is a library/lounge, where you can relax during the day or in the evening, a glass of wine or perhaps a comforting wee dram.

You may have heard of 2 Quail, from a number of sources, as our restaurant held two AA rosettes since 1998. However, the restaurant is now no longer available, as Michael is now the Chef at Royal Dornoch Golf Club.

So, if you are playing golf at Dornoch, you will still be able to sample his style of food in the Clubhouse on most evenings during the Summer, and every Friday & Saturday night in the Winter months whilst enjoying some stunning views out over the Dornoch Firth.

For dinner… if you are not able to use the Golf Club facilities, you will find a number of places to eat in Dornoch, for a variety of budgets.

2 Quail’s accommodation is available 7 days a week if booked in advance. Winter opening hours vary, please phone to check availability.
